ACADEMIC HELP & INFORMATION

MIDDLE SCHOOL.net
A Parent to Mentor website
Few resource websites assist adults in supporting children’s educational development more than this. It is sponsored by the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development(ASCD), a leading professional educational organization. Website links provide worthwhile parent-as-mentor support as well as student research lists.

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL
Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. prepares and motivates children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most. All RIF programs combine three essential elements to foster children's literacy: reading motivation, family and community involvement, and the excitement of choosing free books to keep. This website offers a large variety of activities and strategies parents can do to help build children’s literacy skills, beginning at a young age.
Founded in 1966, RIF is the oldest and largest children's and family nonprofit literacy organization in the United States. RIF’s highest priority is reaching undeserved children from birth to age 8. Through community volunteers in every state and U.S. territory, RIF provides 4.5 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy resources each year.

MAINE CHILDREN’S ALLIANCE
The Maine Children's Alliance is a strong, powerful voice for children, youth and families and provides leadership to create or change policy on their behalf. The Maine Children's Alliance collects the voices and data of various organizations, develops, promotes and advocates a substantive strategic plan including desired outcomes to insure positive change for children and their families.
